UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Support Program is sponsoring a monthly community educational series called Cancer Conversations. Featuring UNC physicians and others, the series is a time intended to help people learn from and talk with cancer experts. The sessions will be held the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The Tuesday, Jan. 17, Cancer Conversations monthly community educational session will cover "Integrative Oncology: the Best of Two Worlds.”
Gary Asher, MD, MPH, director of the Integrative Medicine Consult Clinic, is the featured speaker. He consults with cancer patients to help them determine which integrative medicine practices might benefit them during their cancer journey. In his talk he’ll describe integrative medicine services and how they may be helpful to patients. The remaining time will be spent responding to questions and discussing this topic with participants.
Other sessions will be held Feb. 21 and March 20.
All sessions will be held at Carolina Pointe II, 6011 Farrington Road, third floor, in Chapel Hill. Free parking is available and light refreshments will be served. To RSVP or for more information, call (919) 445-5336 or visit our website.
